Iske Recognized by the American Industrial Hygiene Association with the Henry F. Smyth, Jr. Award

S. D. Allen Iske, Jr., professor of safety sciences in the School of Environmental, Physical and Applied Sciences in the College of Health, Science, and Technology at the University of Central Missouri, has been named the recipient of the 2016 Henry F. Smyth, Jr. Award by the American Industrial Hygiene Association.

After a national search for a leader to facilitate university business and administrative units that are key to supporting strategic priorities, Douglas Hawks, Ph.D., has been named Vice President for Finance and Administration at the University of Central Missouri. Hawks comes to UCM from his role as an administrator at the University of Tennessee (UTK), Knoxville.

Lisa London, a resident of Fairway, Kan., who has more than 13 years of success in educational program development and university administration in Texas, has been named Director of UCM-Lee’s Summit, the University of Central Missouri’s extended campus facility serving the Kansas City metropolitan area. She begins her duties Nov. 30.

National Prevention Award Recognizes UCM, Whiteman, Community Partnership

One of only four programs in the nation to be recognized, Community Culture of Responsible Choices, a coalition which includes representation from the University of Central Missouri, Whiteman Air Force Base, and Johnson County communities, has received a 2015 National Exemplary Award for Innovative Substance Abuse Prevention Programs, Practices, and Policies.
