The Central Missouri Police Academy (CMPA) will commemorate its 50th anniversary Thursday, Aug. 19, honoring the lives and work of former cadets while also providing a look at a new high-tech classroom made possible with funding from the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act.
August 10, 2021While fulfilling a vital need for well-prepared police officers who are now serving several area communities, the Central Missouri Police Academy (CMPA) at the University of Central Missouri celebrated a milestone when it graduated its 161st cadet class on June 19. All 25 members of the graduating class had have found employment, making this the first time that 100 percent of the cadets were hired at the time of graduation.
June 22, 2021While social distancing is requiring Central Missouri Police Academy to make adjustments in its training procedures, local agencies on the front line in helping to slow the spread of COVID-19 are lending a hand through the donation of Personal Protective Equipment for use by cadets.
April 17, 2020Touting the value of a partnership that provides much-needed training for local law enforcement personnel, top leaders at the University of Central Missouri and State Fair Community College on Dec. 5 ceremonially signed a Memorandum of Understanding launching a new part-time police academy in Sedalia. The academy is already drawing interest from individuals beyond Pettis County.
