After a thorough review of video, photographs and other supporting materials, GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ has confirmed that the University of Central Missouri now officially holds the title for the largest ridden parade of mules. This record-setting achievement was reached with the help of 50 mules and their riders during UCM’s Homecoming parade Saturday, Oct. 23, in Warrensburg, Missouri.
December 08, 2021In a year that recognizes many rich traditions, the University of Central Missouri is going the extra mile to celebrate its longtime mascot. When visitors attend the 2021 Homecoming festivities, they can watch UCM attempt to achieve a GUINNESS WORLD RECORDS™ title for the largest ridden parade of mules. An event that annually brings thousands of people to the campus and Warrensburg communities, the Homecoming parade is planned for 9 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 23.
October 18, 2021In celebration of the 1871 founding of the University of Central Missouri, originally known as State Normal School No. 2, KMOS-TV has produced an in-depth history drawing on official archives, historian interviews, and recollections of current and former university leaders. Narrated by Marion "Woody" Woods (1450 KOKO/98.5 The Bar,) “Mule Tracks: UCM After 150 Years” details significant events in the evolution of the university’s academic structure and the growth of the campus. This program will premiere on KMOS-HD channel 6.1 at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19.

July 14, 2021Rekindling the exciting news that rang through the community 150 years ago this month, students, faculty and staff at the University of Central Missouri are invited to attend UCM's 150th Birthday Bash from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. April 27.
April 15, 2021Adding a new highlight to the University of Central Missouri’s sesquicentennial celebration, Missouri legislators met with university members and honored UCM’s 150th year with House and Senate resolutions on April 7. A 12-member group that included UCM President Roger Best, members of the Board of Governors, administrative members, and students, represented the university for this special day in Jefferson City.
April 09, 2021As it travels throughout the state in 2021, the Missouri Bicentennial Quilt will make a stop at the McClure Archives and University Museum at the University of Central Missouri. The quilt will be available for public viewing from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. April 13-16, and from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, April 17.

March 22, 2021Beginning March 1 and running through May 7, Warrensburg residents and University of Central Missouri students will have the opportunity to explore Missouri’s vital role in World War I in a traveling exhibit. Endorsed by the Missouri Bicentennial, the exhibit will feature stories, images, and artifacts from museums, libraries, archives and private collections across the state.
