Under the leadership of UCM alumna Alix Calon, who was president of the UCM chapter
of AIBD during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 school years, AIBD held the first annual UCM
Build and Design Day at UCM in March 2016. Calon coordinated the event, bringing students
together with professionals in the residential design industry to network. The UCM
chapter also hosted the event in April 2017.
The annual event is available to all UCM students, as well as students invited to
attend from regional high schools, technical colleges and universities. The goal of
the conference is to reach all students interested in or currently pursuing a degree
in architectural drafting and technology, interior design, construction management,
and engineering.
