WARRENSBURG, MO – Two undergraduate marketing students from the University of Central
Missouri each reached the quarterfinals in the 2018 National Collegiate Sales Competition
April 3-6 at Kennesaw State University.
John Hagan from Lake St. Louis, Mo., finished 30th, and Ashlee Eastman from Albuquerque, N.M., finished 40th out of 144 students from 72 universities nationwide. Also competing in the graduate
division were UCM MBA students Travis Mays and Amber Ward.
The competition involved a series of role playing scenarios that showcased students’
personal selling skills in real world scenarios with industry buyers. Students are
evaluated by a team of sales professionals and marketing educators.
This is the 16th year that sales students from UCM have competed in this competition. Besides this
competition, UCM’s sales students had a busy year successfully competing in the State
Farm Marketing and Sales Competition at UCM, the International Collegiate Sales Competition
at Florida State University, and the Redbird Regional Sales Competition at Illinois
State University.
