Close to 160 students attended the University of Central Missouri’s Healthcare Career
Expo designed to help employers connect with students graduating in health and human
services. The event took place March 4 at the Missouri Innovation Campus, UCM’s Lee’s
Summit facility.
A total of 36 healthcare providers attended the Expo to talk to attendees about career
opportunities. Examples of employers attending were HCA Healthcare, North Kansas City
Hospital, Truman Medical Center and John Knox Village.
The University of Central Missouri offers a variety of healthcare educational programs
including its recognized School of Nursing, which offers bachelor’s and master’s degree
programs, and UCM certificate programs such as certified nursing assistant, clinical
medical assistant, pharmacy technician, phlebotomy technician and sterile processing
technician. The School of Nursing courses are offered at the Lee’s Summit campus and
online. Many certificate programs are offered at the Lee’s Summit facility or within
the Kansas City area as well as online.
