FAQ

Below you will find our most frequently asked questions.  Email dlii@ucmo.edu if your question is not addressed.

What if I can't log in?

Your Network ID is used to log into campus computers, UCM email, Blackboard, UCMO WiFi, and MyCentral.  If you do not know or remember your Network ID, you may contact the Technology Support Center (TSC) at 660.543.4357 or you may use the username recovery link to look it up. Visit the TSC's Single Sign-on support page for more information.

Why can't I see my classes in Blackboard?

You can view your courses a variety of ways.

Default landing page: When you log into Blackboard, the institution's page can display a list of your courses. Look for a section labeled "Courses" in the left side menu area.  This tab typically lists all courses you are enrolled in as an instructor.

Current, Upcoming, and Past Courses: The institution page courses area organizes courses into sections such as current, upcoming, and past, making it easier to navigate between different course statuses.

Filter and Search: Use filters or search options within the "Courses" tab to find specific courses, especially if you have a large number of courses.

You may view your courses as either a list, or a course card layout where each course is represented by a card or tile.

Still can't find your course? Make sure that you’re searching as an instructor and not as a student, which might filter out some courses.

Why can't I make changes to my content?

If you find that you cannot make changes to your content in Blackboard, it is likely that you do not have Edit Mode enabled. In the upper right-hand corner of your Blackboard course page, look for the "Edit Mode is:" button. You will see an On/Off toggle switch. Verify that you have Edit Mode turned on.

How do I add a Tool link to my course menu area in Blackboard?

Adding a tool link to a Blackboard course menu area is a straightforward process. Here's a step-by-step guide!

How do I merge multiple course sections into one?

Instructors who teach multiple sections of the same course may prefer to manage those sections through a single parent course with associated child courses. Do not attempt to manually merge multiple course sections - instead, request a course merge by filling out this short form. When DLII staff merge a course into a single master course, its students are enrolled automatically in the merged master course.

How do I rename a course to avoid confusion between two or more sections of same course?

If you do not want to merge multiple course sections, renaming each course may be a good way to identify them. For example, you can append the CRN at the end of each course name.

You can change the course name by navigating to the Course Management section within the course menu area. Go to the Control Panel, select Customization, and then choose Properties. There you will find the option to edit the course name.
