The Common Data Set is a collaborative effort among among data providers in the higher education community and publishers to improve data accuracy and consistency. It provides standard definitions for certain data points that are commonly reported on external surveys, such as those submitted to the College Board, Peterson’s and U.S. News and World report. The information in the common data set pertains to the period from July 1 to June 30 of the following year.
