What you will study
UCM’s Marketing minor shares part of its curriculum with the BSBA Marketing program. You’ll learn how to conduct marketing research, gain insight into customer
acquisition and work one-on-one with local businesses to create real-world campaigns.
As a UCM Marketing minor, you’ll take several of the same courses as students pursuing
a Marketing major. These may include:
- Principles of Marketing: Build a comprehensive understanding of marketing theories and how they apply to marketing
in fast-moving consumer environments.
- Professional Sales: Learn the basic selling processes and successful strategies employed by today’s firms.
- Consumer Behavior: Analyze and interpret information from the behavioral sciences to understand cultural
influences and buying habits and motives.
In addition to these core courses, you’ll choose electives suited to your goals and
interests. You can choose from courses such as Retail Management, Marketing Research
or — one of the most popular courses in this minor — Digital Marketing, which examines
how to effectively engage people with interactive and social media.

sponsored by State Farm and Fastenal, as well as National Collegiate and International
Collegiate Sales Competitions, for a chance to win scholarship awards.
