Students are automatically exempt if they are:

  • 60 UCM accepted credit hours completed by the start of the start of the semester
  • Have lived in UCM campus housing for two full academic years (academic year defined as Fall and Spring semesters)

If students have special situations that you would like to be considered for an exemption due to military reasons you can contact Courtney Swoboda. cswoboda@ucmo.edu

We also have information about each benefit HERE.

I want to use my VA benefits at UCM, what do I need to do?

It is highly recommended students contact the Military and Veterans Success Center and schedule an appointment to go over how benefits work, what discounts you will receive at UCM, and go through the Certification Request Form. We can even assist you with applying for benefits on va.gov.

Schedule an appointment HERE

I have not received any of my benefits this semester, why not?

Students must fill out the Certification Request Form each semester they seek to use their VA educational benefits. You can visit our forms page HERE

My Chapter 33 Post-9/11 benefits did not pay everything on my account, why not?

There are few reasons students may owe on their account:

  • If the student is less than 100% eligible. If a student is only approved at the 50% benefit level they would owe the remaining 50% of tuition and course fees on their account.
  • This benefit will only pay the school for tuition and course fees. Students that owe for housing, meal plans, textbooks, etc. will need to be paid.
  • If you are a professional pilot student and owe based on flight fees, please contact our School Certifying Official to go over approved funding through the VA for this program. 660-543-8776 or vets@ucmo.edu

I am using Chapter 1606 and have not received my monthly stipend, why not?

Students using Chapter 1606 have to verify enrollment at the end of each month by calling 1-877-823-2378 or visiting the WAVE site.

- Students must wait until the last day of each month to verify.

- VA file number is the students SSN.

- VA will take 5-7 days to payout.

Example: If classes started in August students would start the verification process the last day (August 31) before the system will allow you to verify. Students can then expect to be paid for the time in August 5-7 days in September.

I am using Chapter 33 Post-9/11 and payments are not showing up on my student account.

Please contact the School Certifying Official, 660-543-8776 or vets@ucmo.edu
