What is SAIL

The SAIL community where students of diverse gender identities/expressions and sexual orientations, including allies, live and learn together in an inclusive and supportive community.  This community supports students who identify as LGBTQIA+ or an ally.  This community allows roommates and suitemates to live together regardless of gender identity and expression.  

 

Do you have an interest in the SAIL Community/Gender Inclusive Housing? This includes…

• You feel more comfortable living with someone who does not identify as the same gender as you
• You would like to live with a family member or friend who does not identify as the same gender as you
• You identify as gender queer, transgender or a non-binary identity
• You have a medical need for an aid to live with you who may not identify as the same gender as you
• You support and are comfortable living in a gender diverse space. For example with persons whose gender identity & expression may be across the spectrum and might be fluid? (i.e. transgender students in transition, students who transgress gender and do not conform to gender "norms" or identity, etc.).

How to Apply

There are two steps!

 

Please indicate this interest on your housing agreement (If you already submitted, you can contact us to update your room preferences!).    Students must submit their housing agreement in addition to the SAIL application. 

 

IN ADDITION, students must also fill in a special application/agreement for the SAIL SHIP located below.  Failure to complete this application will prevent the student from being able to be assigned to this floor.

 

Note that the link below is NOT our overall housing agreement, but a special application to just live on the SAIL SHIP.

SAIL Community Application & Agreement
