Prospective Exchange Students (Undergraduate & Graduate) Information and Requirements

 

The University of Central Missouri is a highly accredited university that is recognized across the world for academic excellence. We are one of the most affordable universities in the USA. UCM is home to more than 3,427 international students from 55 countries. We have the academic support services and student support resources in place to help you every step of the way—from applying to enrolling to settling into your new life at UCM.

The international admissions process varies depending on your student type and whether you are pursuing an undergraduate degree or graduate degree. In general, students pursuing a bachelor’s degree are classified as undergraduate. Below you will find admissions requirements explained for your student type.

 

 

Application Deadlines

International students applying to UCM should be aware of the following deadlines. We recommend submitting your application one to two months in advance when possible to allow time for DS-2019 processing and the visa interview process.

Exchange students are not required to pay an application fee.

 

Demonstration of English Proficiency

Proficiency may be demonstrated by one of the following:

1. Undergraduate:

 UCM is part of the TOEFL  Partnership Program. We invite you to explore TOEFL iBT as an option to demonstrate English proficiency. An exam score of 61 IBT is required.

UCM Proficiency Test of 61

UCM is part of the Oxford ELLT Program. We invite you to explore Oxford ELLT as an option to demonstrate English proficiency. An exam score of 6 is required.

 International Baccalaureate English A or B   English A (SL or HL): 5+
   English B (HL): 5+
   English B (SL): 6+
 Cambridge C1/B2  Minimum 162
 English Curriculum High School Graduate  School with WASC accreditation

 

2. Graduate:

 UCM is part of the TOEFL  Partnership Program. We invite you to explore TOEFL iBT as an option to demonstrate English Proficiency. An exam score of 79 IBT is required.

   UCM is part of the Oxford ELLT Program. We invite you to explore Oxford ELLT as an option to demonstrate English proficiency. An exam score of 7 is requried.

Please Note: If you do not meet the minimum English proficiency score requirements, your application will be updated to indicate an English requirement. You will then be required to start with the English Language Institute upon arrival at UCM.

 

Transcripts

All Exchange students are required to upload unofficial transcripts to their student portal (created upon application submission). These transcripts will be used for advisement purposes.

 

Declaration of Financial Support

This document is required to demonstrate sufficient financial support while attending UCM

 

Official Bank Statement/Certification

This document is necessary to show that you have enough money available to cover your tuition fees and living costs while studying at UCM. The bank statement must be translated into English. 

The cost of attending UCM depends on the agreement between your institution and UCM.

 

Photocopy or Passport and Passport Signature Pages

This document is recommended as verification of citizenship.
